Restaurant launches new menus
3rd June 2009
With lunchtime starters from only £3 and mains from just £6 - such as local pork cutlet with sage and onion crust and apple and apricot relish, or salmon fishcake with lime and coriander dressing, daytime dining at the trendy hotel is equally as affordable as it is tasty. For evening diners, the menu is just as mouth watering and boasts starters such as home smoked duck salad with sweet tea and marjoram dressing, and roast rib-eye of beef for main course. With plenty more choices available including vegetarian options, head chef Ben Hickinson has ensured that all tastes are catered for.
The Maynard is one of only a few restaurants in the whole of South Yorkshire and north Derbyshire to have two AA rosettes. The Maynard underwent a major hotel and restaurant refurbishment in 2007/2008, transforming the Victorian building from country chintz to contemporary chic. The Maynards food offering has been brought in line with the more modern feel of the décor, with locally sourced organic produced used wherever possible and the new menus continue to keep the restaurant up to date without compromising on quality.
Paul Downing, director at The Maynard, said A great deal of thought and effort goes into creating a new menu and Ben sets a very high standard that we strive to maintain and improve upon wherever possible. With the new lunch and dinner menus finalised, Im confident that regular and new diners at the restaurant will be equally impressed. Im proud to say the quality of the food remains consistently high as ever, as Ben and his team have yet again hit on a difficult balance of taste, presentation and value for money, with no compromises.
