Local fashion at The Maynard

23rd March 2009

Local fashion designers will parade their exciting new Summer collections at Peak District hotel and restaurant, The Maynard, on Thursday 16 April. The event will benefit Macmillan Cancer and is being organised by Sheffield Newspapers for Profile magazine’s May summer fashions edition.

A few tickets are still available, priced at just £20 including a double-AA rosette restaurant quality meal, and a proportion of proceeds going direct to Macmillan Cancer. There will be additional funds being raised for Macmillan Cancer, from the proceeds of a raffle. Prizes have been donated by many local businesses, including LadyZone who have generously provided a year’s free gym membership. Other prizes include exclusive day trips, champagne and flowers.

Local fashion houses so far confirmed as attending include Franc, Ivory, Harper’s, Wish, and Eco-eco. Sheffield College are also lending their support, with fashion design students taking the opportunity to get real life catwalk experience before graduating and looking for employment in the world of fashion design.

Paul Downing, The Maynard’s director, said: “The fashion show is fast becoming an annual event and is a great opportunity to have some fun and raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer. We’re looking forward to seeing all the local designers’ summer fashions; we’re sure that it will be a fantastic event and that local businesses and the public will come out in force again to support Macmillan Cancer.”
