The big Aussie reds commence with the impressive AAA Shiraz Grenache 2006  (IWC Silver - IWSC Bronze); followed by Quandong Farm Shiraz 2007 (Mathew Jukes Top 100 Aussie Wines), with the main course of Braised Lamb Shank. Jones Block Shiraz  (Bronze Medal IWC London 2009) brings up the rear, before a Bitter Chocolate and Praline Mousse is served for dessert. (Vegetarian options are available, please speak to the restaurant in advance with any dietary requirements).

The Maynard’s director, Paul Downing, said: “The wine tastings have become a regular and enjoyable date in The Maynard calendar and we have John Hattersley to thank for arranging the visit of David Paxton, who is sure to provide guests with an informative and entertaining evening. McLaren Vale is a prestigious winery and our head chef Ben has come up trumps again with a menu that will perfectly complement the wines on offer.”
