The Maynard is a privately owned boutique hotel and restaurant, ideally situated  in the heart of the beautiful English Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, only a short drive away from the centre of Sheffield.

The Maynard enjoys a superb location, close to Bakewell and Buxton, and hotel guests can stroll through Padley Gorge just minutes walk from the hotel and take in the stunning scenery.

Close to world famous Peak District attractions, including  Chatsworth House and Gardens, Haddon Hall, Blue Johns Cavern, Hardwick Hall and the quaint country villages of Hathersage, Bakewell and Hope. The Maynard entices guests from all over Europe who have travelled to enjoy this spectacular setting along with the award winning food and comfortable surroundings that have made this hotel so popular.

The hotel has been decorated in a contemporary style, whilst encorparating its original features, to ensure the history of the building is not lost. A large range of local art and photographs of the local area is displayed around the hotel for guests to enjoy during their visit.

We have both a bar, lounge and residents and welcome both non-residents and residents to dine or hold their functions with us.

The Restaurant and Bar at The Maynard

The Maynard has both a bar and restaurant, where anyone is welcome to dine with us.

Our two AA rosette restaurant overlooks the gardens and countryside, and boasts award winning contemporary food, which is all locally sourced and freshly prepared by our experienced team of chefs.

The bar area is more informal and serves traditional, quality pub classics and snacks. We welcome dogs in the bar area, and have some excellent local draught ales, which are popular with walkers and climbers who pop in after a long day.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            The fabulous accommodation offers every luxury and comfort to guests, including: king-sized beds, oversized flatscreen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi which make The Maynard one of the best places to stay for a romantic honeymoon  weekend in the Peak District. Our larger upgraded bedrooms also offer guests fluffy bathrobes to use throughout your stay and the two Suites feature either a luxurious corner bath or a free-standing roll top bath with separate bathroom. The hotel has been completely refurbished and has emerged as one of England´s leading contemporary boutique hotels and one of the best hotels of its kind in The Peak District.

DOG FRIENDLY

 We pride ourselves in being one of the only hotels in the area to welcome your four legged friends.  They are welcome in all the bedrooms (except the Main Suite), the bar area and the lounge.  For those well behaved ones, they may even find themselves being treated to a tasty dog biscuit in our bar area. We provide water bowls in the bar area for those dogs who have just popped in on their walk out and arent staying. For those lucky ones who are, we have several excellent walks around The Peak District which can be asked for at reception.

Dogs are charged at £5 per night.
